My Own Version of Classic Recipes using Ajinomoto Products - Sinigang na Tanigue

As promised, I am now posting some of the recipes I've tried using Ajinomoto products. :-) Please feel free to try the recipes here. ;-) I hope ypu will like it too as much our family did. ;-)

Sinigang na Tanigue

Ingredients:
1 tbsp cooking oil
3 cloves garlic, finely chopped
1 medium sized onion, chopped
2 pcs ripe tomatoes , chopped
Tanigue fillet - 500grams.
2 tbsp patis or fish sauce
2 cups rice-water
AJINOMOTO Sinigang sa Sampalok (Tamarind Soup Base)
Kangkong leaves – 2 bundles



Procedure:
1.       Saute garlic and onions in heated oil.
2.       Add tomatoes, stir and simmer for a while.
3.       When the juice is coming out of tomatoes, season with fish sauce.
5.      Add rice water. Allow to boil.
7.       Add Tanigue fillet.
9.       Allow the soup to boil once more.
9.       Add AJINOMOTO Sinigang sa Sampalok.


9.      Add Kangkong leaves and turn-off the heat, allow the remaining heat of the soup to cook the kangkong leaves to perfection.


9.      Enjoy! J

Dahil Batang Batibot Ako Noon...

Because I grew-up listening to his stories... I'm so attending this workshop! :-)


I'm definitely sure that I would learn a lot from him; not just storytelling techniques but also a lot of other tips to make sure my kid would enjoy and learn from each and every story that we will read. So excited already! :-)

AVENTure: Chicken Recipe

Good morning!

Here is another recipe I tried using the prize I got from Avent.

It is simple. Actually, I just asked my mother to marinate it overnight with vinegar, pepper and salt.

I then cooked the chicken using Philips Air Fryer. Voila! Another great dish for lunch to share with the entire family!

Appreciating Simple Things


We visited our loved ones at the Heritage Park on a fine afternoon. 

My kids saw for the first time a makahiya plant. They enjoyed playing with it. They keep on touching it and see its reaction. My little girl’s smile is priceless when she first saw it. On the other hand, here is kuya keeps on telling her little sister how amazing it is.

I am really learning from my kids – to appreciate simple things surrounding us. 




Thank you kuya and bunso for reminding Nanay to appreciate simple things in life.

Yogurt Everyday!

My kids love yogurt.

Both my kids started drinking yogurt on top of their daily breast milk consumption when they turned one. My little girl enjoys drinking her own yogurt. When I introduced yogurt, she just takes a sip from her kuya’s drink. Then lolo Lino bought her own small yogurt, she enjoys it more.

No wonder they enjoy yogurt because their Nanay enjoys it too J

Simple Joys: First Train Ride

Before the accident in MRT, I’m glad our little girl made her first train ride last July.

We opted to ride LRT Line 2 and MRT going to our pedia for vaccine to get rid of the heavy traffic on a Saturday morning and for a new adventure of our kids especially our little girl. It is her first train ride! Yehey!

I saw on their faces the genuine and simple joys of children. For us adults, it can be a daunting task to ride the train because it is our way going to the usual routine – reporting to work; it is packed with strangers; or because it is an exhausting trip. But for kids, it is a wonderful experience.

Seeing my kids enjoy the ride is a simple joy for me as well. As much as possible, we offer our kids different adventures that are simple yet memorable.

Ginisang Munggo - Perfect at last! :-)

Masyado naman maraming sahog… di na malasahan ang munggo.

That is my husband’s usual comment/complaint when I try to cook his favorite dish. Of course I wanted to serve him the best tasting ginisang munggo but how can I do that without adding ingredients that would enhance the flavor of the dish like pork bits or shrimp? I know there are a lot seasoning mixes available in the market but it’s not easy to find something that will enhance the flavor of the dish but will not over power it with its obviously-not-so-nature-identical-taste. Sigh!

I thought adding bits of pork chicharon is the answer to my long quest for the perfect ginisang munggo but just the same, it is not yet the best. Long heavy Sigh!

That is why I immediately signed up for this cook and blog contest. I wanted taste what Porksavor™ All-in-One Seasoning has to offer and see if it will be the one product that will finally give my ginisang munggo a perfect score.



I gave it a try last week and must say that it was the simplest yet the best ginisang munggo I’ve came up with. It complements the rich taste of the beans with its natural pork meat and marrow flavor. My sister even asked me if I used a special soup stock because it is flavorful despite the absence of meat. But the final verdict comes the following day when my husband sampled it for breakfast. 

While silently enjoying his food, I blurted out:

Me: Ang sarap ng munggo noh?
Hubby: Oo. Ganito yung gusto ko. Masarap!

Yes! Finally! Thank you Porksavor™ All-in-One Seasoning. :-)




Well, don’t just take my word for it… give my recipe a try and maybe this will also be the perfect Ginisang Munggo for you. J

GINISANG MUNGGO

Ingredients:



1 tbsp corn oil
2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
1 medium sized onion, chopped
3 pcs. medium sized tomato chopped
175 grams pre-boiled green monggo / mung beans
2 cups water
1 sachet of Porksavor™ All-in-One Seasoning
½ cup malunggay leaves

Procedure:

1.    Saute garlic, onions and tomato in heated oil.
2.    Add a bit of Porksavor™ All-in-One Seasoning to extract the juice and flavor from the tomato and onions.



3.    Add pre-boiled green monggo, sauté for a few minutes.




4.    Add water and let it simmer.



5.    Add the rest of the Porksavor™ All-in-One Seasoning and malunggay leaves.



6.    Serve and Enjoy! J
